Helmet Club Fonner Park Trip
It was a great day for Horse Racing. The bus loaded at 9:30 am and we were off. We arrived in Grand Island at about 12:15 and stopped at our usual place, Slugger's. The owner is Bob and they were ready for 30 hungry passengers. We were served some of the best prime rib that I have ever had.
We loaded the bus and headed over to the track for some fast action. I didn't hear of anyone hitting the big one but fun was had by all.
Lastly this is the first time since I have been the President that there were no active members on the trip. Its too bad that people are so busy that they can't take a day off and enjoy the company of both active and retired Firefighters. This is one of the funnest trips of the year and hopefully next year some of you active people can come and enjoy a day at the track.
